Controlling the window shades

The window shades in the living room and kitchen are motorized and can be controlled using the remote control in the kitchen or the pull chains on each shade.

Using the remote control

• The remote control, located in the kitchen between the window and the patio door, can be used to control each window shade independently.
• The shades are identified by sequential numbers, starting with 1 on the far right (single) window in the living room, and ending with 5 in the kitchen.
• The SHADE SELECT button is used to select which shade will be controlled. The number of lit indicator lights will match the shade number. For example, if one indicator is lit, then the far right window in the living room will be controlled.
• Use the UP ARROW to raise the shade, and the DOWN ARROW to lower it. The STOP button will stop the shade at the current position.
• Shades will automatically stop at the top or bottom position.

Using the Pull Switch

• Each window has its own pull switch
• Gently pull and release the chain to start the movement of the shade. It will move in the opposite direction of whatever its last movement was.
• When the shade is in motion, gently pull and release the chain again if you want to stop it before it reaches the bottom or top.
• Gently pull and release the chain again to send the shade in the opposite direction.

How to operate the TV and audio system

• Press the WATCH button.
• If ROKU is highlighted on the remote’s screen, continue to the next step. Otherwise, use the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW buttons to highlight ROKU.
• Press SELECT and the TV will turn on. After a few seconds, the TV will display Check Device Power. This means the audio system needs to be turned on.

•  Press the button. After a few seconds, the Check Device Power message will go away, and you can start watching TV.

Choose your desired programming with the remote labeled “1”

• Use the SELECT, MENU, or BACK button to get to the ROKU main menu.
• Use the ARROW buttons to highlight the desired programming source or action.
• Press SELECT.

Change the volume using the remote labeled “2”

• Press + to raise the volume, or – to lower it.
• Press MUTE to mute or unmute the speakers.

Tea Time?

To operate the electric kettle, please follow these steps:

• To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid.
  NOTE: Do not fill the kettle over the maximum line, as water may spill out of the spout when boiling. Make sure the lid is closed tightly before connecting the power supply.
• Place the kettle on the power base and plug in the appliance.
• Press the ON/OFF button. The button will illuminate to indicate the kettle is heating. The kettle will switch off automatically once the water has boiled.
• Lift the kettle from the power base, then press the water pouring lock and pour the water.
  NOTE: Use caution when pouring the water from the kettle and DO NOT open thel id, as boiling water will scald.
• Unplug the appliance when not in use. Please clean and dry the kettle before returning it to the base.
